Dawn & Kevin’s engagement session was under serious threat of not happening – the entire weekend leading up to Sunday evening had been pouring rain. But about 15 minutes before their session started the rain stopped, the skies opened up and we had that beautiful warm light that comes after a big rain storm.

When I met Jillian and Terry back in the fall I could tell that they were completely and totally smitten with each other. As you can imagine, that made me pretty excited to get these 2 in front of my camera. But then Jillian made me even more excited by bringing balloons and asking for the photos to be at Fort Edmonton Park. And when the session finally rolled around, they were so much fun and so easy to shoot. In fact, Jillian might be the giggliest person I’ve ever met – she is constantly smiling & laughing. But the absolute best part about her giggle is that every time she does it, Terry smiles.

Alesha and Matt met in school, but aren’t really sure when they first hit it off which is a sign that being together was so just so easy, they never really had to think about it. We head over to Fort Edmonton Park for their engagement photos and took advantage of all the nooks and crannies hiding all over that park. The best thing about engagement sessions is I get a chance to see how comfortable couples are in front of the camera. As you can see, Alesha & Matt are total naturals.

Jacqueline and Elias have a mutual appreciation for sarcasm and teasing. They met when Jacqueline asked Elias why he got “Christmas” braces when she met him at a party. It is a bold move for a girl to open with teasing, but it worked. Jacqueline & Elias have been together for a year. Elias recently graduated from the University of Alberta, so they decided to come hang out with me in downtown Edmonton for a few photos before he heads off to Quebec for a bit.
